We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Purchasing Segment Buyer specializing in electronic components with additional experience on EMS management, to join our procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely procurement of electronic components critical to our operations, while delivering on savings and value-added strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies for electronic components to ensure supply continuity, cost optimization & competitiveness, support on year-over year cost down strategies definition and deployment globally and specifically in one region
- Align and drive various internal stakeholders (R&D, SQM, SCM, Supply Chain, Sales) on strategy definition for electronic components, ability to formulate on an electronic component strategy
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage a global network of suppliers. Lead negotiations on pricing, contracts, and terms. Ability to strategically engage with electronic component manufacturers, evaluate their innovation roadmap and eagerness to engage win deals with Autoliv
- Monitor/mitigate Suppliers Risks (geopolitical, financial, supply chain resiliency)
- Drive electronic components long-term deals supporting divisional year-over year price reduction and strategic global agreements
- Familiarity with passive components (e.g., resistors, capacitors, inductors).
- Experience sourcing electromechanical parts (e.g., connectors, relays, switches).
- Awareness of obsolete and end-of-life (EOL) component risks and lifecycle management.
- Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, component availability, and pricing developments to anticipate risks and opportunities and pro-actively share on market information to internal stakeholders
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, R&D, quality, and production teams to align purchasing strategies with technical and operational requirements.
- Cost Management: Drive cost reduction initiatives through value analysis, supplier consolidation, and alternative sourcing.
- Capacity management
- Cybersecurity roadmap understanding
- Experience in engaging/ challenging innovation roadmap of electronic component manufacturers
- Risk Mitigation: Develop contingency plans and manage supply chain risks, including geopolitical, logistical, and quality-related issues.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
- Ability to navigate throughout matrix environment and strong team-player
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in strategic purchasing or procurement, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of electronic components (e.g., semiconductors, PCBs, connectors, microcontrollers, crystal, semi-active and passive components).
- Proven negotiation and contract management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to engage strategically with electronic components
- Experience supporting sites/regions yearly action plans deployments and global strategy background experience on electronic components and cross-functional teams
- Successful experience deploying distribution agreements with key e-component distributors
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
