Cost Engineer

If you think you'll like to manage the following responsibilities at higher standards:
- Analyse purchased component spend to identify and quantify savings opportunities in a wide range of technologies (e.g. stamping, injection Moulding, die-casting, forging, machining and assembly).
- Evaluate supplier quotations and provide “should-cost” calculations to support Commodity and Project Purchasing during supplier negotiations.
- Plan and execute/support cost workshops at suppliers with the aim to optimize costs.
- Develop cost models for main component categories to support Purchasing during negotiations.
- Support Engineering teams by providing input about cost drivers and cost reduction opportunities during the design phase.
- Support Sales teams with cost information when requested.
If you have/are:
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Industrial Engineer or similar) or equivalent technical background or Economic Degree with high interest to achieve production technology knowledge quickly on the job.
- English: fluent
- Several years in Purchasing, Technical and/or production environments.
- Good knowledge of production processes of components, associated production equipment and tooling
- Team oriented, analytical, self-motivated, show own initiative, conscientious, solution-oriented, technical competence, negotiation skills, willingness to travel, curiosity.
- Well-developed cost awareness, good communication skills and perseverance to achieve targets.
- MS Office, esp. Excel (advanced) and Power Point
- Accustomed to preparing and present efficient presentations
- Experience with component cost calculation methodology
- Good language skills, due to the international nature of our suppliers and internal organization
- Lean Manufacturing / VSM experience beneficial
- Driving License
