As a Quality Senior Manager for Cluster 3 at Autoliv EMEA, this position involves coordinating quality activities across our plants in Hungary, Turkey, Spain, South Africa, and Estonia. The role reports directly to the Director of Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing quality organization aligned to business objectives, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
Define, implement, and govern global & regional quality strategies, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with automotive regulations, customer requirements, and industry best practices.
Drive product and process quality across the lifecycle—from development (DFMEA, PFMEA), validation and production to service parts—by working closely with R&D, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality and Customer teams.
Oversee quality planning activities: control plans, inspection plans, measurement system analysis (MSA), statistical process control (SPC), and capability studies.
Lead cross-functional problem solving (8D, root cause analysis) for critical quality issues and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions are implemented and sustained.
Manage supplier quality performance including supplier selection, audits, development plans, and escalation of critical supplier issues.
Own quality KPIs and reporting—quality cost, PPM, customer complaints, scrap/rework—and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet or exceed targets.
Ensure product conformity through internal audits, external certifications, and regulatory compliance activities.
Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure quality requirements are integrated into contracts, change management, and launch plans.
Represent Quality in customer meetings, problem resolution, and business reviews, acting as the primary escalation point for quality-related customer topics.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management or related technical discipline.
Minimum of 8–12 years of progressive quality experience in the automotive or safety-critical manufacturing industry, including leadership experience.
Proven track record with quality systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001), product safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, SPC, MSA, and structured problem solving (8D, A3, DMAIC).
Experience managing supplier quality programs and conducting supplier audits.
Excellent analytical skills, data-driven decision-making, and experience with quality reporting tools.
Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence at all levels including executive leadership and customers.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Fluent in English and Hungarian; it's a must; additional languages are an advantage.
