Role Summary
In this role you will ensure the effective coordination, transparency, and quality of automation initiatives by acting as a Scrum Master–like orchestrator between business stakeholders and automation teams.
You combine technical business analysis, structured validation, documentation definition, and data transparency to ensure automation solutions are clearly defined, measurable, and aligned with business outcomes.
You are responsible for maintaining automation pipeline hygiene, ensuring that all initiatives are consistently tracked, structured, and visible. You also define how testing and documentation should be performed to support scalable, compliant, and reusable automation delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Coordination & Flow Management (Scrum Master–like)
Facilitate the flow of automation initiatives across intake, analysis, development, validation, and release
Coordinate stakeholders, developers, and business teams to ensure alignment and clarity
Track progress, dependencies, and blockers across initiatives
Proactively follow up to maintain delivery momentum and consistency
Ensure data is transparent, accurate, and accessible for stakeholders
Provide insights to support prioritization, governance, and decision-making
Automation Pipeline Hygiene & Traceability
Ensure all automation initiatives are accurately tracked, structured, and up to date in the agreed systems (e.g., Jira or equivalent)
Maintain consistency in how initiatives are documented, categorized, and progressed
Define and maintain visibility over automation initiatives, including pipeline (intake → delivery), automation adoption and usage, efficiency and business impact delivered by automation
Identify and correct gaps or inconsistencies in pipeline data
Business–IT Bridging (Communication)
Act as the interface between business stakeholders and automation teams
Translate business needs into structured requirements for automation initiatives
Clarify scope, expected outcomes, and success criteria
Ensure consistent understanding across technical and non-technical audience
Validation & Testing (Standard Definition + Execution)
Define and propose how testing and validation should be performed across automation initiatives
Coordinate and execute validation activities to confirm expected behavior and outputs
Ensure issues are identified, tracked, and resolved before release
Drive consistency in testing approaches, artifacts, and quality expectations
Documentation & Knowledge Management
Define and propose documentation standards, templates, and structure for automation initiatives
Create and maintain key documentation assets where needed
Use AI / LLM tools to improve documentation quality, structure, and speed
Ensure automation-related knowledge is searchable, reusable, and centrally accessible
Guide the technical team to ensure documentation is in place
Security & Compliance
Verify that workflows follow governance rules, security requirements, and compliance expectations.
Ensure documentation includes correct access models, approval flows, and security considerations.
Assist in preparing automation solutions for internal and external audits.
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Support for automation-related incidents or user knowledge issues.
Troubleshoot common issues, validate user inputs, and provide clear guidance.
Escalate complex problems to engineering teams with well-documented context and impact.
Automation Platform Awareness
Maintain awareness of various automation platforms, including capabilities, constraints, typical use cases within the IT landscape
Ensure alignment between business needs and platform possibilities
Support consistent and appropriate use of platforms across initiatives
Continuous Improvement & Feedback
Collect structured feedback from stakeholders and users
Identify recurring issues, gaps, and improvement opportunities
Recommend enhancements to processes, documentation, and validation approaches
Contribute to improving overall system effectiveness and scalability
Skills & Experience
Proven technical knowledge or expertise
Familiarity with automation concepts and IT operations (not deep hands-on engineering).
Solid understanding of IT landscape fundamentals, including system integrations, infrastructure concepts, enterprise application ecosystems
Understanding of automation lifecycle, workflows, and operational constraints
Ability to interpret technical solutions and assess fit within existing systems
Experience in technical business analysis, requirements structuring, and process understanding
Ability to define testing approaches, validation criteria, and quality standards
Ability to define and structure dashboards and reporting concepts for automation visibility
Understanding of how to track and present pipeline data, adoption, efficiency / impact metrics
Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences
Experience facilitating discussions, managing expectations, and aligning multiple parties
Working Style
Strong organizational and coordination skills with high attention to detail
Experience with organizing workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and community events
Proactive mindset with ability to drive follow-ups and maintain momentum
Comfortable working across teams, domains, and levels of technical maturity
Experience presenting, teaching, and promoting initiatives across teams

This role strengthens transparency, coordination, and consistency across the automation lifecycle, ensuring that initiatives are well-defined, properly validated, and measurable in business terms (e.g., efficiency, adoption, impact).
